What is the difference between simple walking and Nordic walking? The latter requires special poles similar to skiing poles which provide additional targeted load to all groups of body muscles. When we walk as usual, mostly leg muscles work, and if the poles are used, even 90 per cent of muscles, i.e. abdominal, back, hand, shoulder, chest/breast and leg muscles, work.

Besides, Nordic walking burns around 400 kcal/h, whereas walking without poles burns 280 kcal/h.

So, if you want to make walking much effective and beneficial to your physical and emotional health, choose Nordic walking with poles.

Nordic walking:

  • Stimulates work of the muscle groups which are "idle" in usual walking;
  • Improves metabolism and burns calories faster;
  • Walking in fresh air supplies oxygen to the whole organism; thus, boosts the immune function and positively affects the nervous system. Thoughts become clearer, the mind calms down.
  • It has been determined that Nordic walking for around 30 min. releases happiness hormones, i.e. serotonin and endorphin.
